Summer Getaway - AMRITSAR

Hey all! I’m finally putting up my two-day staycation experience at Amritsar! I have been meaning to put it up for a long time but a hectic schedule and this gloomy weather keeps getting in the way! But here it is, FINALLY!

If you're from India and haven't visited the Golden city yet, what are you waiting for?!
Amritsar is also known as the holy city and has a huge history in the books!! While in Amritsar, I stayed at this beautiful property by Marriott vividly known as Fairfield.

Amritsar is almost a 4-hour drive from Chandigarh. I wouldn't really suggest you to visit the city during this time of the year. ugh heat!

DAY-1

We were welcomed with drinks and taken to my room which was at its best! The room was spacious with city view. The property has a clean blue swimming pool by itself right at the center of  the building for all the guests. After a quick nap, we decided to head out and check out the property and what all it has to offer. This place is almost at the mid of the city, and has everything that you will need for your entertainment right inside the hotel.
Post my lil exploration, we freshened up for our dinner at this very well-known restaurant called 'KAVA'. The ambience at this restaurant was really chill with IPL playing on a huge screen! The best part was to try out the famous Amritsar kulcha and oh let me tell you, irrespective of how heavy it is loaded with butter, I bet you can't have just ONE! We ate a light dinner and then called it a night!

Thinking about how my staycation was so wonderful and ofcourse some brownie points to the friendly staff who treated us so well. They also host marriages and such other functions and in case any of you guys want to approach them for that, they will definitely help you out! The property, people and the culture is all so heartwarming, could not have asked for a better time!

DAY- 2

We woke up at early hour around 4 and headed to the Golden Temple.
I can go on and on about this holy place of worship, but for now to sum it all up, I'd just say that it is the most peaceful place in this universe, I feel like my life has paused for a while and I'm away from all the worldly things and chaos.

After visiting the gurudwara we headed to Chandigarh and stopped at Haveli, Amritsar for a full fletched lunch. This place also has Amritsar thalis and I was super excited to finally get my hands on some delicious authentic Amritsari cuisine. The spread here is insane and you will go crazy sampling everything. The meal is a blend of different items from Amritsar and it was so overwhelming, I could not even finish the thali. The Kulche filled up my stomach and I just wanted to take a good long nap after this lunch!

I hope you had a great time reading this and looking at the pictures, just like I had at the Golden city! :)
